The government is cruel and mean,
Intent on taxing my dreams, it seems.
I close my eyes and try to escape,
but now they say I'll have to pay.
I used to dream of happy times,
of sunshine, rainbows and joyful rhymes.
but now my dreams come at a cost,
a tax that's as cold as winter frost.
I'll have to pay to dream of love,
or soaring on the wings of a dove.
No more free thoughts or fantasies,
They're all subject to their policies.
This plan is ridiculous and bizarre,
taxing dreams, is it going too far?
but I'll keep dreaming with all my might,
and find a way to win this fight.
I know how these Govt. behaves, they are always after the taxpayers to extract more and more by whatever reasons they can...
They want money and more money..
Brilliant poem 👏
Great political satire, tax rates are revised based on businesses 👏 at wish n whims of Govt.
Fabulous writing. Well depicted.
Looks like governments are not for the people, just for the elites. Sadly the common man has no Messiah. Same situation everywhere.
by embezzlement. They know the ways to put it into their own pocket by any means.
I think that it's pathetic that our government taxes seniors on their pension plan. We paid into it all of our lives and they have the gall to tax us on our Canada Pension Plan. Great satire, Asim!
Gradiose! And so. so right! We will all join you in the good fight. Marvelously, right. Many stars for this favorite

These levies facilitate politicians to engage in various forms of malfeasance. They exploit them for their own gain, under the guise of security, and also for propaganda.
