Slips Away - Poem by Adrian Denise Powell

There's always one that sneaks up on you then slips away
Never thought I would feel that way
Your words were like heaven to my hurricane

You were mine
Somewhere in time
We both Knew it was wrong
But the feeling was too strong
Some how I couldn't stop myself
I had to see how you felt
My feelings I could not waste
I had to have a taste
And your still on the tip of my tongue
Thank you for everything you have done
One night with you was more than a fantasy
I'll keep you in my memory
I have no regret nor guilt
I will miss you without a doubt
I will not forget you my friend
And will cherish you till the end
There's always one that slips away
Sneaks up on you and then goes astray
