Snippets Of Poetry Poem by Practicing Poetess

Snippets Of Poetry

Rating: 5.0

Snippets of poetry, little bits
I started, and left unfinished.
Pieces of potential masterpieces,
To complete them, is what I wished.

But, alas! On scraps of paper
Jotted rapidly, in haste
Now buried somewhere under stacks of who knows,
Such a tragic waste.

Very commonplace situation. I too suffer from this problem. I appreciate this reality and down to earth admission that 'Snippets of poetry, little bits.... of potential masterpieces / Now buried somewhere under stacks of who knows'. Yes, I can relate with it as you have noted. Thanks. It goes into MyPoemList.

True true. I find the best way not to forget is to type on your cell phone. The phone is usually with you everywhere. That way you capture all ideas. My wife is always chiding me and being the doting wife she is right. So i see an interesting title on a billboard or car next to me and i get my phone to type a poem idea in traffic. Totally illegal. You dont become a " poetry freak" without eccentricity. Plus the wife is there to bail me out as long i get that poem going. Nice poem.
