Sustenance Poem by Keilani Poetry

Sustenance

Your laughter
washes me
in golden light
and silver haze

as it spills
a tidal wave
lifting me
above the hardness
of rock
the assault of words
streets and alleyways
stained in blood

Nothing more
I need
but this I do
as we roll
on the grass
in the desert
of the world

Your laughter
is the water
that baptizes me
the sacramental bread
of our communion
wreathing us
in fragrant garlands

drawing to earth
the light of Heaven
