The tarnished leaves of autumn
leave the trees lying bare.
Like skeletons reaching out
pointing skyward stare.
It is a closing season
and the tarnished leaves
are banished to the ground
to nourish the soil
for the new growth
when spring comes around.

A lovely poem, David, about our changing seasons. They give us new excitment and something to look forward to. Marilyn
