The Arid Plane - Poem by Nakul Sood

Do you love me?
On this arid plane of land
This desert plane of insanity,
A land of erosions
And corrosions,
Of consolation; insufficient reconciliation.

The floor of beliefs
Is broken, and cracked;
The expanse is barren
Of vegetation, lacked
Nourishment, nutrition,
Wisps of
All that mattered...
The best laid plans.

My peace lies strewn
On the desert floor,
Amid the rhetoric,
This flat land without shadow
This... this...

We were idealists; the both of us;
And raisins are dried grapes.
