I want the new canvas of the day to look good
and thus I start with a loving, grateful mood:
with strokes of colour, soft and sweet pastel
I long to make a superb and pleasing aquarelle.
The heart, a good intention, adds a few red flowers
But oh what happens after only two or three hours?
The greed of my ego causing here and there some torment
Splashing on the painting hideous grey color of cement
I hope and pray that when I look tonight
I ‘ll have made the artwork look perfectly right
Perhaps looking like the most amazing flowery forest
Filled with acts of kindness, love and zest
Oh my Creator, full of grace, to you I pray
Guide me to make a masterpiece on the canvas of today.
Free of all harshness and splashes of hard concrete
Just pleasure, beauty, harmony, for the eye to meet.
Much more message is in this poem than first meets the eye. Very profound way of saying we need to be always conscious of what we do and create, that we need plenty of moral guidance too. Well written, thanks for sharing.

A lovely piece this too. But the original without rhymes has a natural force. But this could be subjective.
