Behold! The mighty Common Man!
Coming to show what no one can,
Stole our hearts within a short span,
Wishing to drive our fuel-less van!
Behold! The mighty Common Man!
Coming to show what no one can
Bow not! For He is one among you,
Just bold to utter things thats true
Since lotus dried, with a malignant flu,
Came to power like a jolt from the blue!
Behold! The mighty Common Man!
Coming to show what no one can
Thrown away, by the lightning spear,
Modified petals are shaking in fear!
Horse trade, rat race, so near, here!
Shouldn't have ignored then, oh dear!
Behold! The mighty Common Man!
Coming to show what no one can
Mother of nation became so gloom,
Wondering 'bout our middle aged groom,
Land deal dreams that did not bloom,
Swept away by just a single broom! !
Behold! The mighty Common Man!
Coming to show what no one can
Bless him to take the next big leap,
Not a small rock, but a mountain steep,
Catching thieves who stole our sleep,
Big task! Thousand promises to keep!
the common men are the tools to have the change in the world and they have to be motivated and inspired, but through cognitive process, all our piercing emotions are blunted and we, the common men are helpless and clueless on the road choosing one party after another to see the new sun..Good thought. I thank you for your comments for me, as a poet and the poems. Thank you, Magic Box..
What I expected has happened. Shahziaji, Aswath wrote this poem keeping in mind a new dispensation of a COMMON MAN`S PARTY coming to power in the Union Territory of Delhi in India... The poet is expressing his optimism that the experiment would be leading to the victory of the common man at all levels.. Aswath, please add a NOTE at the end regarding the theme you have built this poem on or else poets like Shahziaji will be mislead..
Dinesh ji thanks for guiding me, yes, you are right that sometimes it is necessary to contextualize the poem for its theme that is particularly intended by the poet...but mostly the interpretation depends upon the whims of the readers who know nothing of the deep structure of the poet's mind and they are taken at the surface structure...instead of picking up my comment i would like to thank you again! ! ! rgds, Shahzia

Poetry has always been companion to camps in the battle ground of life, giving energy to the weak, increasing vigour of the heart, infusing spirit in the common man making him mighty... this one is no exception along with the inspirational poet's notes! ! !
