The Cry Of The Whale Poem by David Wood

The Cry Of The Whale

Rating: 5.0

The sounds from the boundless sea
Come from whales and are a plea
Their haunting songs are a cry you'll find
And a warning to all mankind.

In their haunting songs they find a mate
Or help in group hunting, to communicate
But mankind has already sealed their fate
By polluting the sea at an alarming rate.

With climate change and warming seas
And plastic bags floating in the breeze
Acidification of the oceans on the rise
We lose the whales their song now cries.

One day the whales will be gone you see
As with polar bears and the humble bee
But will mankind be sorry or even weep
When we lose those gentle giants of the deep?

Ohh noo we don't want to lose those great gentle giants, their cries do sound like laments. I hope your awesome poem inspires more to save the creatures and may more help save the planet. Kudos for this great one!

Great! Poetry with a purpose! We can't afford to lose these giant creatures due to man's misadventures. Hope sense will prevail and the poets will keep poking at the conscience of the authorities. Bravo!
