The Gift Poem by David Wood

The Gift

Rating: 5.0

There are so many who lead us
In positions of power we love to cuss,
Who went to expensive private schools
But turned out nothing but fools,
Whose spouses think they are bores
Yet in power they lead humanity into wars.

Like the wandering wind they blow
They argue in their power and crow
At other's wisdom, wisdom they are bereft of.

Of the common people they have no love
They are mad for the power and the reward,
They money stashed away they hoard
To send their sons to the very private school
That failed them. But who is the bigger fool?

For wisdom is lacking in those who vote
On whose very word they love to dote
Wisdom is that gift a rampaging mind
Does not know and makes such fools blind.

I feel very often the same. Politics has been void of values. But still so many voters worship the billionaires, many of whom are unhappy greedy coroks, void of all wisdom.

The voters should vote wisely while seeking their leaders. They should not fall prey to false promises make by the leaders to come to power. Nice ink. Great share.
