The Maltese Legend Poem by Richard Wlodarski

The Maltese Legend

The Maltese Legend

To Malta you were a real soccer legend
To Canadian Maltese a hero to the end
To me you were more than an entertaining friend

You and Brian taught me to shoot pool
In your school of calm and super cool
You taught me how to hold em and fold em
Win em and lose em in Texas Hold Em

Karaoke guy singing Leo Sayer
Making When I Need You quite a slayer
Over a beer or two at Chris' bar
You the pool shark and karaoke star

Crossing Guard leading children to safety
In winter's bitter cold and misery
A hero to them, mothers and fathers
And to me and several others
