The Noble, Poet, And Painter - Poem by Tracey Marquart

An English noble, a Tuscan poet
and a Spanish painter showed me the way.
In times of darkness, their inspiration
kept the negative emotions at bay.

The noble composed songs about love
A romance of seduction and despair.
Torn between a friend and a Parisian
She became consumed within his lair.

The poet wrote of his loves divine
By traveling through nine circles of hell.
Once reaching purgatory he would depart
To enter paradise where he would dwell.

And the painter drew one hundred pieces
One for every canto the poet wrote.
Within the persistence of memory
A surreal dream image one should note.

The noble, the poet, and the painter
Unbeknowest have guided me thus far.
For within their stories of love and art
They have guided me like the northern star.
