The Rainstorm Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

The Rainstorm

Rating: 5.0

The very first moment I saw you,
was also the saddest last hour

you went to your house during the rainstorm
that was not safe for you
stay with me
wasn't safe for you either

and I
I do not know why
maybe because it rains bullets in Ukraine
bullets in Ukraine?

that started a year ago
it went from soft to hard
yesterday the minister of the interior
was killed in a helicopter crash

Only scrap remains of
the Ukrainian Ministry of Interior helicopter,
the minister's name was Denis Monastirski
may he rest in peace
with the rest
who died in this helicopter crash

The very first moment I saw you,
was also the saddest last hour
you went to your house
through that rainshower
