The Rock Of Laura Iee (Revised) Poem by Heather Burns

The Rock Of Laura Iee (Revised)

Rating: 5.0

Standing on the rock of Lauralee
Silently looking out to sea

Heard the howling in the wind
As it rushed round the bend

Watched your ship sail to sea
Leaving the port of Lauralee

Each day I return to view
Looking across the ocean blue

Scanning the horizon no ships sight
Perhaps a phantom in the night

Today I'm standing here again
Watching your ship round the bend

Catching you in the misty air
My heart leaps to meet you there

Once more coming home with me
Standing on the rock of Laura lee.
