Thich Nhat Hanh 3 - A Candle In My Heart
The Great Master has taught us.
When the candle of the heart is lit,
It shines brightly with an ethereal glow,
I see the reflection of the same light,
In the hearts of all my dear friends,
In all my sisters. brothers of this world.
The candle was ignited with kindness
By ‘Thay - Thich Nhat Hanh‘ -
The Master of shimmering light!
The great Master reminded us:
'We have a lamp inside us.
The oil of our lamp is our breathing,
Our steps, and our peaceful smile.
Our practice is to light the lamp.
You are a candle!
Imagine you are sending light out all around you.
All your words, thoughts and actions
Are going in many directions.
If you say something kind,
Your kind words go in many directions,
And you yourself go with them.'
Let us always keep the light burning,
In our hearts with love and joy,
To share the brightness of Thay's candle,
With kindness and love all around us.
I gave one of his books to a neighbour today who wanted to read it.
