Thought About You 2 - Poem by Michael P. McParland
I was out and about doing my shopping
and all the while I thought about you my one and only.
I saw couples together alone and with families
and all I could think was I wish that was us
just spending time as we did our chores both in
the house and having to go out.
I thought about you and how much I love you and miss you.
While I was shopping I looked at food that I knew
I could make us a wonderful meal for a perfect night,
just sitting there with each other enjoying good food
one of the greatest ways to spend time with a lover.
To cook for you would be a great honor.
Then after we could just leisurely clean
then sit on the couch in peaceful quiet and cuddle.
I thought of you and our brilliant bright future,
always standing up and beside one another.
Going hand in hand about our days whatever the adventure,
holding my dear lady as the Angel she is whispering sweet nothings.
I thought about you the whole time because I love you
and want you to be with me forever.
