from "While Passing Through"/Summer
Three teeny ants
slowly toil on kitchen floor
beneath a large crumb
beneath me a colossus
looking so far down at them.
Too good, Glen! One who observes tiny creatures, learn a lot. The tiny ants have their own style of working. I notice that they are very methodical and systematic. Lovely Tanka.....10
hey, geeta! good to see a comment from you—thank you! from ants, from all the corners and crevices of nature, so much to learn. hoping you are very well, glen
A real thought provoking poem. We are the best in creation but still we lack determination and hard work ethics of tiny ants. Superb. loved it.
hard to beat the strength of ants! thank you, anil, for reading and commenting on this poem. -glen
Grinning here. Life is often a matter of perspective- -this would make a great short story.... hmmmm. Three teeny ants still moving that rubber tree plant!
so you know that song too, susan! that dates you, you know. we all need those high hopes, part of a healthy diet. thanks for your comment! -glen
Projected against these tiny creatures, we are of colossal stature and how we lag behind them in certain aspects.... their unity and hard work in foraging food! What they amass through their hard work, they share with the whole community! Lovely observation! I too have written two poems on ants.... if interested you may look at my poem Ants and the Lessons they Teach!
hi, valsa! you get this perfectly. thank you for your comments, and i'll check out your poems. hoping you're well in every way, glen

Ants are laborious and disciplined. An ant can carry twenty times weight of it. Three teeny ants try to carry a large crumb is interesting to look at. A beautiful poem amazingly shared.10
thanks, kumarmani! i also remember hearing or reading that ants can carry twenty times their weight. amazing creatures in so many ways. i would be happy, however, not to get bitten by them as has happened to me a few times this summer. -glen
