To Touch Poem by Bill Cantrell

To Touch

Rating: 5.0

To understand a poem is to be touched by the poet
To bring a reader to weep is to hold her in your arms
To look at ourselves when penning is to distance all narratives
I for my part choose to gather love,
Not just in its passionate directives,
But in its art of innocent trust,
it's ability to grow with a giving hand
So, if this is understood,
I am touching and being touched
And if not,
Then I join so many others,
In writing to themselves
Have you heard, it is better to give than receive?
I say, the one giving is the one receiving
Especially in poetry,
So I give this poem to Sandra Feldman
