Tree 13 - Signorina Casuarina Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Tree 13 - Signorina Casuarina

Rating: 5.0

O Charming Casuarina!
You are like a ballerina,
Singing with the raindrops,
Swaying with the waves,
Swinging with the Aves!

Silhouetting against the amber blue sky,
Standing tall, dignified and high,
Smiling at the raging sea water
Sensitive to the singing birds
Signorina Casuarina!

At dawn, with the rising morning sun
I have watched you innumerable times,
Sitting on a wooden stem of tree,
You look like an angel with fluttering wings
With a glow of mystical aura around you!

At dusk, when I sit on the beach
Watching the orange ball of the sun
Dipping and disappearing into the sea,
You look like a mysterious veiled lady,
Awaiting your love, a sailor, perhaps, far away!

I cannot forget the amazing sight
Of several birds sitting together on your branches,
As if to attend a joyful conference,
Chirpily speaking and cooing with excitement,
Merrily singing a shrill symphony!

O Charming Casuarina!
You are like a ballerina,
Singing with the raindrops,
Swaying with the waves,
Swinging with the Aves!

Thank you Loke. I find trees to be the most amazing creations of this world. They speak a lot through their silence. :)
