Three brightly lit stars
lighting up the night sky
Three smiles shining like the sun
so warm, bringing tears to my eyes
Three masterpieces of art
created by angels, just for me
Three reasons why I choose what I do
today, tomorrow, and as far as I can see
Three very distinct personalities
yet cannot think of them apart
Three more precious than gold and
diamonds, held so closely to my heart
Three words I will say to thee
everyday, in every way, 'I love you'
Three most special people in my life:
David, Lauren and Matthew!
To my Trois Raisons D'être
I find often that French is used in the English language to inject a bit of romanticism into a feelingless monologue, thankfully not by you. You ony use a little but it fits so seemlessly with your english that you add rather than detract from the poem.
Lovely lovely lovely wonderful kids... All the best and more Roger

Your poem reminds me of the song 'Three Coins in the Fountain.' I love it. Perfect 10 my friend!

I'm sure most readers would agree that a handful of souls make up their raisons d'etre. And all the wealth and or all the fame and all the power in world doesn't matter a jot if these soul-mates are taken away. Bless you for sharing this tender-hearted piece. love, Allie xxxx
