True Love Poem by Hazel Durham

True Love

Rating: 4.8

Their voices warm and familiar call out
To my senses of seeing, hearing and believing
In the truth of their love,
That travels across the universe achieving

Their presence is still an eternal influence,
On my life throughout all the strife,
Their kind eyes watched over me as I fell
Down the stairs of life,

Too steep, too deep that made me weep,
Weep for peace and the war too cease.
Light filters in through the window,
My parents live on in my mind, their care

Their love and wisdom so fair,
They were my backbone as my life unravelled,
We were united against the darkness that invaded our universe,
I never stand alone as their kind and loving eyes watch over me,

Their wisdom is what i hear in music, in nature like the sea
It's wild uncertainty, moments of stillness,
Moments of powerful intensity thundering on the shore,
Destiny moves with their gentle force

Of their truth and love
Of their kind eyes that hold me upright,
To fight for my life as my parents reach out from the heavens above,
That truth matters, love matters

Even when my life was shattered,
Now I move in motion like the sea's wildness of spirit,
Time standing still in respect for their dignity and grace,
As I now saunter on in life's endless race.

A heart-warming poem about the uniqueness of parental love: our first guide upon the road of life. The eternal special place they hold within our hearts. I hope one day, I shall find the courage to write a tribute to my father, as well. A great poem.

A Lovely tribute to your parents................! In life's afflictions and also ecstasies, the only ones who will stay with us are our parents! They may not be with us now, but surely they will watch us down from Heaven! A beautiful poem.(10)
