Unspoken Words And Empty Gaze Poem by saadat tahir

Unspoken Words And Empty Gaze

Rating: 5.0

Somber silent, buzzing street
Unmoved by the shuffling feet,
Naive to the cold or heat,
Ceaseless on his endless beat.

Unspoken words and empty gaze,
alone he prowls in a seeming daze.

Dark dreary dazzling roads,
Blasé to the bustling crowds,
Unaware of the sun or cloud,
on and on to his own abode.

Unspoken words and empty gaze,
alone he prowls in a seeming daze.

Lifeless empty milling mobs,
undaunted by the bursting snobs,
oblivious to the pomp and show,
Adrift on waves in a humble throw

Unspoken words and empty gaze,
alone he prowls in a seeming daze

I like the rhyme scheme, and the repetition of the two verses between stanzas. Lovely imagery!

'somber, silent buzzing street'..isn't it a paradox? Being lonely in a crowd is a unique experience. The protagonist of your story in rhyme is in the state of oblivion. Oh, your poetry is difficult to interpret.

Hi Sat... I'm wondering who this is that moves through the crowds and down the street oblivious... inspite of the life surrounding him? Nice write... Shirley :))

Dark dreary dazzling roads, Blasé to the bustling crowds, Unaware of the sun or cloud, on and on to his own abode. It sounds like a deep solitary experience on the streets of Madina. A spiritual journey.
