Voluntary Slave - Poem by Ryan Sheets

It's about all those wonderful people out there who try to just blend in and thereby kill the possible hero inside of themselves.

The eyes of crimson
They glow in villainy
Expunging the fear of
An apparition that grows ever closer
Venerable death before independence
Bout with your burdening significance
Cataclysmic undoing surfaces with sense of value
We're all ants
Minute and decrepit as ants
God save the king and burn all the ants
Proletarians enthralled by sentiment of the mainstream
A carbon copy to inhibit the rise of a possible paladin
Construct a palindrome of Power
Strive to be the same
Bromidic, asinine, prosaic and mindless -
Slave to the king
Cecity and overcomplacency hides the leash
So happy with our broken dreams
The dreams that built the gerent
