We Can Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

We Can

Rating: 5.0

Dear children, can you read?
Yes,
We can read and write,
And catch the time tight.
We can speak the truth
And can bright our youth.

We have power of ruth,
And we can make booth.
We can fly in the sky,
We can dive, climb up high.

Lovely children, can you spare?
Yes,
We can spare, can do well,
In good manner we can dwell.
We love all and kind to all,
Away from violence we do pall.

We can meditate and love God,
We need peace, bliss and mod.
We are souls all are brothers,
We can win heart of others.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Here poet loves the children and asks them whether they can read. The children answer, "We can read and write. We can properly utilize the time. We can move the world in very short time. We always speak truth and we can make bright our youth properly. We have the power of feeling of sympathy and sorrow. We can make temporary room or house when we require. We fly in the sky and dive in the deep sea. We are able to climb up High Mountain or trees." Poet further asks the children whether they can spare. In answer the children say, "We can spare and do well for all. We live in a good manner. We love to all and kind to all and we are away from nonviolence. We pal with good friends." Lastly poet hopes spiritual qualities from the children. The children say that they meditate God and love God. They are in peace, bliss and happiness. They want to deal with the new invented things. They are souls and human beings are their brothers of same blood. They can win the hearts of others with love and affection. This is the theme of the poem and is written on this day of 3rd November,2014. It is written in Deogarh, Odisha, India and is dedicated to the people of the World.

Lovely, the poet is talking to children, and the dialogue that ensues has to be in the language as spoken by children, and this is wonderfully done here.
