We Have To Start Afresh - Poem by Amitava Sur
We the humans have become so inhuman,
That humanity is at stake today.
Truth is forced to take the back seat
Being dominated by horrendous activities.
Poor moon, arriving in a star studded sky
Perhaps cannot smile anymore now
Seeing the humans,
Snarling instead of a smile with grace!
We are divided into so many pieces
By the name of religion, color of skin,
Rich or poor and in every discipline.
We are just striding backward now
With our egos and selfishness.
So filthy and injurious it is -
That now we have to start civilization
Again from the very beginning,
To survive and to proceed ahead
Keeping our heads straight and high.
