What's The Use? Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

What's The Use?

Rating: 5.0

What is the use of giving
a potion of water
to someone to drink whose hair-
caught up in a fire?

Place him underwater
or get him a shower,
don't ask him what would help him best
for his head remains a pyre!

In emergency situations, we have to do certain things different from what we do in ordinary situations. The ability to act quickly in a critical time needs common sense and courage. Delay in acting and not doing the right thing at the right time can even endanger a person's life. Well presented!

Difficult situations require one to act in extraordinary way. To prevent casualties and further damage we have to assess the situation if our help could in one way or another alleviate the suffering of our fellow men.
