I wish the cold would melt to spring
When colours of the season bring,
A joy that autumn took away
And left me there alone that day,
For while the land so bleak and plain
I'll never feel that joy again,
Forever winter it shall be
Until that time releases me.
From this sentence that I live
So much I have but cannot give,
For no one now does seem to care
Imprisoned by my own despair,
A light may gleam within the sky
And yet it soon shall fade and die,
Not strong enough so it could last
Nor wipe the memories of my past.
For winter seems to have no end
Nor offers me a lasting friend,
When wind does blow a bitter chill
The restless air is never still,
I wish for me the sun would shine
To warm this lonely heart of mine,
As I await the ice to thaw
When frozen streams shall flow once more.
As Shelley posed the question 'If winter comes can spring be far behind? ' I too say console yourself looking at the bright Star in the night about the coming bright Sun shine soon and the spring with all its colourful objects everywhere to inspire and rejoice all in victory in their missions in the world!
great poem Andrew! i can always visulise what you write. That watery sun so far away cannot penetrate this winters day that pale yellow sphere can shed no heat through the snow and wind and sleet regards Bob
And let it be that streams flow gracefully for thee, , Andrew, you are a wonderful writer Love duncan X
Lovely piece Andrew, the flow was great, and what a lovely sentence 'When Frozen Streams Shall Flow Once More' making a super ending to this wonderful read. Excellence from your pen. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX

Rest assured, the sun shall shine Warming the days, both your's and mine Closing Winter's door once more As it's done so many times before Then it is that we shall bask Shed new light, and shed the mask Heavy is the heart grown cold Thawed it shines of Luna's gold so easily inspired by your work.. the imagery was most grand..
