Where'D You Go (C) 1-14-10

Rating: 5.0

I search and I search
Trying to find where’d You go
The soothing sound of Your voice relaxes me
Where were you when I called for you when I searched for You
Were the prophesies of Nostradamus true
You put me in a trance whenever I heard You
My dear beloved I cannot live without You
Am I truly left in this generation by myself
With the mind of a generation and a half before me
The only one I could trust in and rely on
And like everyone else You left me
You deciphered my poetry in every cipher
And taught me the path not to follow to be a man
Gave me the souls of mischief and predicted my anthem
You gave me the Message and truly I say to You I followed
You knew my ways would shortly die out so You showed me the immortal technique
Of knowing my nation and the harsh cruel world I live in
When I was upset with my parents You gave me the hope of being paid in full
You showed me the style of the Wu Tang and told me “It’s yours”
I ran with it feeling like I had the face of a ghost and You gave it to me
You showed me You didn’t believe in racism and gave me the greatest reason
You taught me who the shady niggaz were but learn from the slim one
I know longer colored coded M&M’s but I spit em out like a gatlin
Lost in a world of my own You knew I was misunderstood
Because You gave me the common sense that I have today
Though today my sense is uncommon even while bein common without the sense
I bet You understood what I just said, Cause you always understood
Your bedtime stories were real slick and when you read em my imagination flourished
The poetry I write today is under Your influence
Even when no one was around You showed how a failure would change my life
They said my future was dark but You told me don’t worry,
One day you’ll be able to say “I’m beaming”
I followed Your path trying to learn how to kick knowledge from the top like You do
I wanna know how You did what you did but I’m bein told that You’re dead
You can’t be the prophesy is a lie but I too am seein this “Hip Pop” overshadowing You
But why it has no meaning, It has no truth, it has no purpose
But You do, You always have, please don’t tell me You’ll die in my presence
Tell me it was a lie, I’ll search the great wall of China to Lincoln Park to ask
Where’d You Go
