Why Spare Me? -001 (Youths Of Future World-001) Poem by Subhas Chandra Chakra

Why Spare Me? -001 (Youths Of Future World-001)

Rating: 5.0

Why spare me?

I was a kid

my papa's heart,

my mom's soul,

my sister's mate-

and I was only seven.

A tiny kid of seven

just new to a school,

A soft and tender heart

innocent enough to fool!

Why did you force me

to leave this lovely world

Cup board full of toys

friends, loving mom and dad?

When I was thirsty

for my sister's touch,

when I was hungry

for my mother's couch,

when I was eager

to meet my father,

You stole my breath

and cut my fresh feather.

What was the mistake uncle?

What else wrong did I do? ?

Why in stead of your arms

I would get your blow? ?

You are elder man,

older than I am-

How else do I know

You would do me harm? ?

Teachers taught me here-

to love and respect old.

I only obeyed these

moral lines of gold.

What else would be mine

Last few minutes' wish?

To call and complain mom

and papa to come and punish!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The murder of a school kid, Pradyumna,7 years old, at Ryan International School, Gurgaon has made parents like us cry.
We have no other options left than to wait for futile Police investigations.

When would our people learn to love and protect their future and the youths of future India and the World?
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The death of Pradyumna,7 years old, a kid in Ryan International School in Haryana has disturbed the whole nation. Enough is enough. No more to tolerate. Our system has become a nymph in protecting our kids, the future of our young world. God save us.

So very sad but abuse happens so often in today's world. This topic is addressed in the poems Jack, Drip, The Death of Raggedy Ann, and especially The Other Children. I too feel the pain and sorrow of the evil and cruelty around us today. Your poem has touched a tender nerve. Thank you. 10+++

I really wish I could have heard a soundtrack to go with the poem rather than a robot burping out each word individually
