Winter Blues Poem by Nosheen Irfan

Winter Blues

Rating: 4.3

The winter's gloom is upon me
The chilled bones crack underneath
The cold nip takes over sultry breath
The touch of air finds the depth

It's only 6 p.m. but silence screams
Sleep is far off but eyes dream
Trees are black skeletons in the falling dusk
Their bare branches shiver from maiden shame

Heart is heavy in its emptiness
A black hole without soul
Melancholy settles on everything
For no reason, life becomes nothing.
