Hi Nosheen, Love brings Spring in one’s life. Rather, love is spring, with all its colours and fragrance and nectar and sweetness. Thus, “Winter Of Love” is a handsome expression signifying loss of love or fading love, between two persons who have been very close. “Distant moon” is an equally interesting metaphor, augmenting the melancholy mood of the poem. Loved this one, Nosheen.

So many takes on moon in poetry! This moon seems to be a cold narcissist that draws you into its orbit for its own gratification. Compare: Like the moon her kindness is If kindness I may call What has no comprehension in it But is the same for all As though my sorrow were a scene Upon a painted wall -Yeats

Distant moon is calm and in cold weather reflecting calmness of love. So heart is tenderly painted with this calm love. A powerfully imagined poem is excellently penned.10
