World Without Walls Poem by Rajnish Manga

World Without Walls

Rating: 5.0

There is a possibility of an Emergency in US
POTUS wants to secure funding for the wall
Along the country's Southern Maxico Border
To prevent illegal immigrants from entering
Don would like his dream project completed
As soon as possible despite all opposition.
Where's the dream of a world without walls?

A dream indeed, Rajnish! It's high time that we stop building walls and prisons. And welcome each other to paradise on earth. Well crafted poem!

Yes, an ancient dream, which has survived generations of dreamers. Thanks for your kind visit and a thoughtful review.

I doubt if that wall will ever get finished, it has to be so exceptionally long. I prefer 'a world without walls'.

Let us hope that the walls segregating people will eventually crumble down! That's what history proves! The iron curtain in Russia was lifted, the wall of Berlin too got destroyed! But unless there is a change of heart in people, walls are necessary to a certain extent for self defence and better safety! You have dealt with a contemporary issue of far reaching ramifications!

Thank you so much, Valsa ji, for being on this page with such a fine review and valuable inputs that help us perceive the situation in right perspective. We can't just do away with all kinds of walls in a go. (I wonder if there are any 'good walls' v/s 'bad walls'?) .

There is no real world without walls I think. If Trump's Wall is only to stop illegal immigration, is there anything wrong with this wall? The Wall in Germany had to come down, and it did. Germany is now far better off, in my opinion.

I fully agree with you, Michael. It somehow relates to ideological walls which are creating more trouble than physical walls. Yes, all redundant walls are bound to fall when the time comes.

Take heart, Rajnish Manga, this will pass. Berlin Wall was demolished and the divided Germany was united. two Vietnam/s were united, two Korea/s might soon. But yes, your cry is in place. A well-thought out poem.
