Yeats, Not Keats....
day-dreaming last night
on my carpe diem bed
William Butler Yeats, that's it!
WB Yeats and Rabindranath Tagore, the Indian Nobel Laureate who won the Nobel Prize for literature (in Bangla) in 1913, were good friends and he visited the latter several times in India. He also translated Tagore's 'Geetanjali' into English, for which Tagore won the Nobel Prize. Yeats also won Nobel Prize in 1923. The lines on his epitaph reads (which I missed to mention in my earlier comment) : 'Cast a cold Eye On Life, on Death. Horseman, pass by! '
Irish poet William Butler Yeats was my English teacher's (Mr J R Simpson's) most favouite poet. Though I know the name since my school days, yet I haven't read him much. I love these lines on his epitaph, which were taken from his poem 'Under Ben Bulben'. Appreciate your love and passion for the poet.
This day dreaming was so amazing that gave you brilliant perception to pen this poem. This Senryu is wonderful...10
Yeats came last night in a poetic dream with wisdom but whole night alone!
