Your Love - Poem by Dhruv Dikshit

It has to be your heart,
That pumps love in my veins.
You always play your part,
To collect all my remains.

It has to be your laugh,
That brightens my day.
It rests on your half,
How to manage my ways.

It has to be your fury,
That sends fear in my eyes.
If it wasn’t for your jury,
I would’ve paid the price.

It has to be you smile,
That kills them in the bar.
Then they all stand in a file,
And bow to this luminous star.

It has to be your touch,
That tickles in my heart.
And it always has been such,
From the day it all starts.

It has to be your memory,
Which never leaves my mind.
It fills my empty story,
With a light I had to find.

It has to be you who gave,
This poor man a spine.
For you led him out of his cave,
Into the dark night to shine.

It has to be your hand,
That skims like a feather on my face.
When next to I stand,
In a fantasy place.

It has to be your love,
That sets me free.
Your shine gives me nerve,
For you’re all that I see.
