Your Picture 7 - Poem by Michael P. McParland

Lying here in my bed looking at your picture.
It helps me feel in some way a bit closer to you.
Looking at your glowing smile and your eyes so bright
it helps soothe my aching soul and heart
in the slightest bit.
I miss my only one and today I just want
to lay in bed and dream of you.
Your picture helps calm my heart
because I get to gaze upon your
Angelic face and countenance.
I lay herewith your picture on my screen
so I can feel you watching over me.

Lying here in my bed and how I wish
I could hold you close to feel fully calm
and just rest my head right next to yours.
Give you kisses so sweetly from my heart
just look at you and fall into
that special place of calm you always brought.
Just to feel your soft skin against me dear.
I just want to have my Angel in my arms.
Your picture helps me feel like you're
a little closer and I can lightly smile.
I look at it and say I love you Kira,
I miss you deeply with all there is
within my heart and soul.
It's only you that can fix my aching heart.

I look at your picture to pick back up
that little bit of strength that I have left.
It gives me hope that you'll soon return,
that I'll be able to share with you
everything we both think and feel in every way.
Your picture helps give a bit of light
because in some way I can look at you.
Say the thing that are in my mind and heart,
smile at you saying of you I'm so proud,
here's a kiss to keep you safe and warm.
You are my hero and best friend
with whom I share a special bond.
So I lay here now within my bed
looking at your picture and sending all my love.
