(703) Poison Me White Poem by Melvina Germain

(703) Poison Me White

Rating: 3.8

We see difference,
we see hate.
Go to school, discriminate.
Fight the enemy, hide the scars.
Hold your tears behind bars.
Pick up sticks, hurl the rocks.
Go to Church, march for blocks.
Martin dreams
End the hate
Celebrate
come together one and all.
Hold hands,
stand tall.

Melvina, discrimination come in many forms and all of them wrong. If we could only live in a world where everyone was equal in everyone's eyes. Nice thought, but hard to realise it ever happening only amongst the poets. A very powerful statement you have written and I for one agree with your sentiment entirely. Thanks for sharing it. David

It`s not just white and black, it`s fat and thin any difference at all, discrimination begins, thats the darkest sin... Melvina
