A Country Song (Sort Of) Poem by Practicing Poetess

A Country Song (Sort Of)

Rating: 4.8

Take your lousy, cheatin' self
Right out that door
'Cause I don't wanna see
Your face no more

Whether it's fantasy,
Pornography,
Or some other woman than me,
I don't want your cheatin' heart
Like I did before.

Take your philandering ways
Away from here
'Cause it makes me sick to think
That you are near

Don't give me that wink
You lousy fink
And furthermore, you stink
You're a cheatin' louse,
And you reek of beer!

To answer your question, Louis, I suppose I was tripping on a break from my self-imposed absence from PH due to my grueling move! (The move is still in progress, but poems were beginning to pile up, so I treated myself to a little Poem Hunter relaxation break! This poem was hot off the press, written just today! P.S: No truth at all to the poem- - purely fiction!

A fascinating and incisive poem. So cleverly written. Loved reading it.

Thank you, Rose Marie! I think this poem reads like the lyrics to a country song, hence the title.
