2019 Poem by Practicing Poetess

2019

What will the new year hold?
Will it be better than the old?
Forward we step, in a blindfold
Wondering what we will behold.

As we watch the year unfold,
Will there be sorrow untold?
Or joy and blessings manifold?
We must not fear; we must be bold.

We could see trouble and pain,
Or happiness may come again.
Good sense and reason could prevail,
Or is that but a fairy tale?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A new year holds promise, but often fear of the unknown, as well.
But we are cautiously optimistic that this year will be an improvement over the last.

Ah, but what will become of Brexit? There is more than one great country that is divided! As was previously commented, we hope for the best!
