Aching Poem by Nosheen Irfan

Aching

Rating: 5.0

Storm-clouds hide the sky
And all that it carries
My wish, your wish

Drooping petals of flowers
Know no way of lifting up
Spring or no spring

Lonesome roads are long
Trudging feet are worn
For we are not together

Like an abandoned hut
In the depths of forest
I'm aching, you are aching.

It's a great poem, the real poetry, missing a loved one and obvious pains have been very poetically painted. One of the best poems by Nosheen Irfan.

So many on target images that have settled into my mind as if I have seen them and they are mine- - - - - - - -Storm-clouds hide the sky - - - - - Drooping petals of flowers Know no way of lifting up - - - - - Lonesome roads are long Trudging feet are worn - - - - - -Like an abandoned hut In the depths of forest- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Those images carry the power of emotion, they have been drawn with the black and white of ink on canvas. So well chosen for the ACHING feeling of separation and loneliness, the vacuum that is left behind when lover and love leave... yet the poem extends hope... they both are aching and we can hope that means there may be a way they can come back together. Awesome write! ! ! Words perfectly chosen- -and not too many nor too few. It is just right! I hope the powers that be seen Poem of the Day in this write because I think all of us here see it! 10++++++++++ and a spot on my favorites list.

Unfortunately sadness is more predominant in human life while joy is a only a shimmering gleam struggling to cut through the hovering dark clouds! A feeling of being abandoned follows us like our inalienable shadow. Remaining bonded to fellow beings and linked to the the very Source of Light is the only way to escape the gnawing ache! Man's sad predicament has found terse expression here!

I am aching, you are aching. This closing made me feel the common sadness of being human. But sadness is a curious feeling: it seems to point the way out, in this case, the bond with the other person who is also aching. That ofher person feels the same emotion and that is a spiritual bond. And it's true and real. The only missing element is presence.Love in absence. Love from afar, as the medieval troubabour JAUFRE RUDEL sang to his beloved CLEMENCE on the far shore of the sea. What matters is the truth of their love, the degree of their longing,

This is just wonderful - how effectively you portrayed that ache of separation with minimum number of words in a very meticulous, measured manner. (10)

The emptiness and the loneliness within all of us does trigger the sadness, but we humans are smart as we know how to overcome it soon........WIth the pinch of sadness this life would be meaningless. A thought provoking poem, NI..Loved it.100+++

Hi Nosheen, When you are in love, it is not just a metaphor, two hearts merge, so that both are one. There is no separation. There are no two hearts, only one. Nothing prevents one from feeling the ache, the pain of the other. No boundaries exist between them. Still, Lonesome roads are long Trudging feet are worn For we are not together. Great!
