African Summer Poem by Bob Blackwell

African Summer

Rating: 5.0

Live in
African town
beneath the African sun
sky is blue, then storm clouds gather,
lightening flashes light a darkening scene,
torrents of rain commence to fall,
it thunders ground is wet.
African sun?
It’s Gone!

I always wanted to go to African, maybe because of the Tarzan movies. This was a great poem with a fine message.

Will come back once the thunder storm is over! I love the pun in the poem...for you would have seen a number of mid noon suns in your life in Africa there, Bob...ten for the clever poem presentation

I too enjoyed the snapshot into a sudden storm in Africa. Like Australia, the land can become like an oven, and it is so often a relief to see the sun disappear. 10 Karin Anderson

Short and funny, a good write on typical African weather...almost like at a given signal the sluice is opened to flood our thirsty land.Enjoyed reading this Bob

It's incredible how quickly a beautiful sky can be swallowed up by an approaching storm... A great write.. visuals were crystal clear..
