Ahimsa 4 - Karuna Or Compassion Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Ahimsa 4 - Karuna Or Compassion

Rating: 5.0

Ahimsa is ‘Karuna Saagara' -
An ocean of compassion,
A formula of unlimited sympathy,
An emotion emerging from deep within
Arriving, melting and pouring,
A gushing waterfall of unending empathy!

A merciful person practises
Ahimsa most naturally!
Allowing the innate quality of
Abundant goodness to flow,
Amid any deliberation or degradation,
Above any differentiation or discrimination!

Some are naturally empathetic,
Some, basically pathetic,
Some are born majestic,
Some, cultivate a compassionate attitude,
Some live a wasted life of frivolity
Some live an illumined life of loving compassion.

To practice Ahimsa - a compulsive habit
To cultivate compassion!
To develop a sympathetic heart,
To suffer the sorrows of others,
To experience the pain of others,
To embrace it like our very own!

Beloved and merciful heart of all things,
Be it a human or a rock,
Be it a animal or a stone,
Be it a creature or a creeper,
Be it a flower or a leaf,
Beckoning the fragrance of love!

To nurture a philanthropic heart,
To never hurt the tiniest of creatures,
To cry when the ocean weeps,
To shiver when the earth trembles,
To identify with the pulse of this world,
To merge and converge with the universal soul!
