An Antique Script Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

An Antique Script

Rating: 5.0

topaz tiger
runs thunderingly
grasps fallen star
so alluring so amazing

ruby snake
bows so low
touches dry dessert
so enchanting so exciting

turquoise eagle
descends eagerly
scratches moonlight
so enthralling so beguiling

jaded whale
swims deeply
searches for oasis
so mesmerizing so refreshing

West breeze blow suddenly
dance to Spring forest
can we join the blurry party
when our hearts so lonely?

East rain dropp fascinatingly
seduce Summer garden
can we join the shaded dinner
when our souls so sad?

South lightning ponder quickly
mock Autumn atoll
can we join the hidden feast
when our spirits so empty?

North earthquake shake badly
swallow Winter lake
can we join the secret gala
when our senses so broken?

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

so descriptive and the imagery was amazing. i loved how you brought the seasons into this poem and questioning each if entree would be allowed if you weren't x, y, or z. thought it was cool. i'd give it a 15/10. thanks! ta ta -Every rose starts out as an ash-Ashes 2 Roses :)
