Anything But That (After Meat Loaf, The Singer) Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Anything But That (After Meat Loaf, The Singer)

Rating: 5.0

You're so beautiful, I want to fall in love with you
But yr friends think I am a joke
I see you laughing with them while enjoying a cigarette
And knowing it's about me
I walked away with a teardrop coming down my cheek
You're so beautiful but you are really a jerk
When you must hide from them to be kind
You told me once that you liked my poetry
And wanted me to write poems for yr girlfriend
Sorry, I don't swing that way
But if i did, still, I wouldn't want to do it
I guess that's the way I found out poetry doesn't pay
At any rate
Even for love, I wouldn't do it
