Arctic Hare - Poem by Kim Barney

The Arctic hare
is very rare.
You have to stare
and stare and stare
to be aware
he's even there.

Or if you want to go all the way the 5th line is 'to be aware' ... nice one (Report)Reply

More than two years later, I have finally changed the fifth line at your suggestion.

The Arctic Hare ain't so rare at all.
It's white in Winter, white in Fall,
but brown IF the snow does thaw.
To see them one must be on the ball.

Nice poem and picture. Great example of camouflage. It looks a lot like the cottontails around here, but they are not white. If they put their ears back, they look like a rock. (Report)Reply
