Poet wants to say that the he was draped in the twilight of life's pillars and realised that by doing so he got merged with the light of the love. The path of this life is unfamiliar to us hence we are afraid to walk alone and like the ruins standing in our path we feel uneasy while passing by but as soon as we get company of our Lord / beloved/ companions we feel delighted and no path looks unfamiliar.
