Boxing Day (December 26) Poem by Rajnish Manga

Boxing Day (December 26)

Rating: 5.0

Boxing Day sounds strange. Isn't it?
It has nothing to do with boxing or fighting
It is a day of charity and gifting goodies
to the poor and the needy after December 25
On Christmas Day devotees visit churches
and drop money and gifts in a box as charity
This is distributed among the poor or needy
A practice in vogue in England and followed
by several Commonwealth countries since long
Along with making charities it's changed a bit
Employees too are offered money and gifts
It's also a holiday marked by picnic & revelry
