Chance - Poem by Laura Dunne

would you give up your dreams
to someone who would never have the chance?
would you give up your life
to give someone one more chance?
would you dare to jump the tide
if you ever got the chance?
the chance to change the outcome
of the path you're headed on

save the child and the mother
save the baby and the dad
save the preacher and the sinner
save the savior and the slayer
give them one more shot
let them have another chance in life
to change when they've been headed
and created a new path in the road

would you challenge the leaders
if they gave you a chance?
would you help the poor and beggars
if asked for that chance?
would you give their life the moment,
that one chance they've been waiting for
the chance to change the outcome
of the path they're headead on

to save the child and the mother
save the baby and the dad
save the preacher and the sinner
save the savior and the slayer
give them one more shot
let them have another chance in life
to change where they've been headed
and create a new path in the road
