Change In My World - Poem by Tlholohelo Twala

Change is a wonderful thing, change brings evolution, better, simpler future. Unfortunately today's change is for the worst. We are setting our own extinction due to change. Way of life has changed, education has changed and technology has changed us. Nothing could get any worse than it is now. It's sad how we are contributing the visible problems at hand. There's no democracy as we claim. There's no peace. We are fighting our own people, discriminamtion to our brothers and sisters. And we say ' WE ARE PROUDLY AFRICAN'. A proud African would never rape his sister, or murder his mother. A proud African would never support a corrupt system in its country. It's amazing how we support the indirect criminals and mock our saviours. Small unimportant factors are our focus, why is that? This is because we have allowed ourselves to be Westernised and modernised. I'm ashamed because I'm not a victim but the oppressor. Although I know that the change will begin with me, you decide your own fate.
