Chariot Me To A World Of Fantasy Poem by Valsa George

Chariot Me To A World Of Fantasy

Rating: 4.9

I wish I were transported to a world of pure fantasy
Where life is far removed from all harsh reality
Where one can roam like a bodiless spirit, weightless
Like a floating, drifting feather to escape all banality

Become an entity like an alien from another planet
And reside in an ethereal realm where no physicality exists,
A fairy land where the sun never rises nor sets
A world where beauty surrounds and all wonder persists

Reality is a tether where one is perennially tied
So carry me to the fantasy world on the wings of poesy
Where I can indulge in pleasant reveries all through
A realm, a prosaic man might call one of idiocy

There let poesy come to me in rainbow hues
My verse creating in me and others waves of delight
Levitate me to a plane higher above the mundane
And curl me in the folds of a dream like an invisible spirit

Loved your fanciful thoughts, which culminate well into the concluding lines: 'Levitate me to a plane higher above the mundane And curl me in the folds of a dream like an invisible spirit'.

Absolutely flabbergasted by this poem that so beautifully and, rightly, poetically describes the situation of a poet when he is cerebrating about something. The clause " the sun never rises nor sets" is my favourite.

Looking back, I've a doubt: does the phrase " the sun never sets nor rises" mean that there is no sun at all, or that the sun is immobile in the sky?

valsa, first, i've enjoyed this visit to your poems. on this one, for me, your use of the verbs chariot, in the title, and levitate, in the next-to-the-last line, are excellent. on fantasy, i think we all need to find escapes. for me, typically, it's reading crime fiction. on dreaming of a different/better world, you might like my poem " imagine me." hoping you're well in every way and thriving, glen

Your perception is well articulated. Most beautiful poem.10

I think a fantasy world doesn't need a sun as the poet can very well imagine a light and write and sing....I too got the doubt like Vaibhav Simha first...then as I mused more on that I got the answer...as usual with rich poetic expression you shine in this poem too Valsa 10/10
