The wonder of winter,
The splendour of nature,
From a far-off land of India,
From a climate of heat and humidity!
If only I could peep from my window,
To watch a carpet of pure white snow,
To see a winter bird peeping into my window,
I would be thrilled like this little girl, so pretty,
I would exclaim with pure joy and delight,
I would skip and skate like a snow maiden!
