Christmas 1 - The Wonder Of Winter
I can only imagine,
I can only dream,
The wonder of winter,
The splendour of nature,
From a far-off land of India,
From a climate of heat and humidity!
If only I could peep from my window,
To watch a carpet of pure white snow,
To see a winter bird peeping into my window,
I would be thrilled like this little girl, so pretty,
I would exclaim with pure joy and delight,
I would skip and skate like a snow maiden!
Dear friends! It's time for Christmas!
Let us praise the greatness and glory of the Lord,
Let us be grateful for His countless mercies,
Let us fill our hearts with love and compassion,
Let us shine and glow like the twinkling stars,
Let us enjoy the amazing purity of nature's marvels!
In these colder times, you have drawn a perfect picture of people enjoying snowfall as seen from a distant land flanked by somewhat moderate temperatures. Poem is also dedicated to the glory of our Lord who showers us with his mercies, love and compassion and countless other things. Thank you so much, Geeta ji.
